A full-scale migration from Vue.js to Webflow for Chargemap, Europe's leading EV charging platform, supporting 1.5M+ users across 10+ languages with total marketing autonomy.
Chargemap is the European leader in electric vehicle charging solutions, providing a community-based platform and a universal charging pass for over 1.5 million users. What started as a collaborative tool for EV drivers to share charging station locations has grown into a comprehensive ecosystem covering route planning, real-time availability, and a payment solution accepted at hundreds of thousands of charging points across Europe. As the company expanded into new markets, their consumer-facing website — originally built on Vue.js — became a bottleneck for the marketing team.
Every content update, campaign landing page, or regional adaptation required developer involvement, creating delays that slowed down Chargemap's ability to communicate with its rapidly growing user base. The need was clear: migrate the entire consumer-facing site to a no-code platform that gives the marketing team full control, without sacrificing the performance and sophistication of the original Vue.js build. The project also had to account for Chargemap's massive multilingual footprint, with content served across more than 10 European languages.

The primary goal was marketing empowerment. Chargemap's marketing team needed to go from being dependent on developers for every website change to having complete autonomy over content, campaigns, and page creation. The migration to Webflow was designed to unlock this independence — enabling the team to launch landing pages, publish blog posts, update product messaging, and run promotional campaigns across all markets without writing a single line of code. This shift was critical to supporting Chargemap's aggressive European expansion and keeping their digital presence aligned with a fast-moving product roadmap.
The second goal was building a hyper-scalable multilingual architecture. With users across France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Portugal, and beyond, the site needed to deliver a fully localized experience in more than 10 languages. This wasn't just about translation — it required adapting content, imagery, and even regulatory messaging for each market. At the same time, the new platform had to match or exceed the technical performance of the original Vue.js framework while leveraging Webflow's native SEO advantages, including clean semantic HTML, automatic sitemap generation, and fast server-side rendering.

The most complex challenge was engineering a robust multilingual architecture capable of managing 10+ languages seamlessly. This involved setting up a localization system that ensures consistent navigation, proper hreflang tag implementation for SEO across European domains, and a content structure that allows each language version to be independently managed while sharing the same underlying design system. The architecture had to be scalable enough that adding a new language in the future takes hours, not weeks.
The second major challenge was the code-to-no-code migration itself. The original Vue.js site featured sophisticated UI components, custom animations, and dynamic data handling that couldn't simply be copied into Webflow. Each component had to be carefully analyzed and rebuilt in Webflow's visual environment, preserving the brand's polished user experience while adapting to the strengths and constraints of the no-code platform. The result had to feel identical to users — no visual regressions, no performance degradation, and no loss of interactive richness.
Finally, advanced CMS workflows were engineered to give Chargemap's marketing managers unprecedented publishing power. A custom CMS architecture was built that allows the team to push updates, blog posts, and regional promotions simultaneously across all language versions with a single action. Content editors can manage each market's messaging independently when needed, or broadcast updates globally when the message is universal. This system eliminated the bottleneck of developer-gated publishing and gave Chargemap the agility to match their product's pace of innovation.
